1. The Login Page

In order to start using Morgan Manhattan's Online Wine Inventory Viewer, you must first login using your lot number and password. If you are a first time user of Morgan Manhattan's Online Wine Inventory, you will most likely wish to change your password after logging-in from the one that was issued to you originally. Instructions for changing your password will be given in Section 4.

I. Guest Login

Guest users who would like to see the capabilities of Morgan Manhattan's Online Wine Inventory Viewer can log in using the following lot number and password:

Account Number: P111111
Password: Guest (case sensitive)

Note that certain features will not be available to you when logged in as a Guest, including viewing the Delivery and User Information pages, as well as making changes on the User Notes page.

II. Forgotten Passwords

If you have forgotten your password, click on the link below the login fields. Submit your lot number, then enter the answer to your Reminder Question. If you have not indicated a Reminder Question and/or Answer, this feature will obviously not work. Upon correctly answering your Reminder Question, you will be automatically logged into your account, where you can check and/or change your password in the User Information Page.

III. Error Messages

"The Lot Number" or "Password you have submitted is invalid ..."

If you receive this error message, double check that your login information is correct, and try to login again. Please note that the Password field is case sensitive, so capitalization is important. Please also note that zeros and the letter 'O' may appear similar on paper, but are NOT interchangeable in the login fields.

"You have not indicated a Password Question" or "Answer to your Password Question ..."

If you have not indicated a Password Question or Answer, you will be unable to use the Forgotten Password feature of Morgan Manhattan's Online Wine Inventory Viewer. Your Password Question and Answer can be viewed or changed from the User Information Page.

"The page you are attempting to view has expired ..."

Morgan Manhattan's Online Wine Inventory Viewer has a ten (10) minute expiration timer on all pages for security purposes. If any page is left idle for ten or more minutes, you will be automatically logged-out upon attempting to view other pages. If you have been automatically logged-out and still wish to view your inventory, simply reenter your login information, and return to your inventory.

If you use your browser's Back or Forward buttons to navigate your inventory, you may see a message generated by your browser stating that the page has expired. To resolve this, push the Refresh button on your browser, and Retry on the dialogue box that appears (IE only). To avoid this problem all-together, use only the navigation controls supplied by Morgan Manhattan's Online Wine Inventory Viewer.

Some Anti-virus software or other network security software can sometimes block Morgan Manhattan's Online Wine Inventory Viewer from writing cookies to your computer, thereby preventing you from logging in and presenting you with this error message. If you repeatedly receive this error message when attempting to log in, try temporarily disabling your anti-virus or other security software, and retry your login.

"Morgan Manhattan's Online Inventory Viewer encountered an authentication error ..."

There are two possible causes for this error message. The first is that you have tried to access Morgan Manhattan's Online Wine Inventory Viewer through a bookmark or directly by inputting the URL of the main page without first logging in. To resolve this, simply return to the Login page, and login normally.

The second reason you may receive this error message is that Morgan Manhattan's Online Wine Inventory Viewer uses Cookies to validate user login information. A Cookie is nothing more than a small blurb of information that is temporarily stored on your computer. You will not be allowed to log in if you have disabled Cookies in your browser, either inadvertently or for security purposes. To enable Cookies in Internet Explorer, go to the Tools Menu --> Internet Options, then click on the Privacy pane. Make sure that the slide bar is not set any higher than Medium High, or any custom security settings prevent you from receiving cookies.

"Your account either does not contain any Wine Listings or Morgan Manhattan's Online Inventory Viewer encountered an unknown error ..."

Lastly, if you receive this error message, then first close your current browser window and return to the login screen in a new window. If you receive the same error message and know for a fact that your inventory is indeed not empty, please send an e-mail to our Webmaster.

2. The Inventory Page

Once you have logged in, your inventory along with several other options will be displayed on the screen. Your inventory is displayed in a tree type layout, with each group of wines having its own heading. By default, all groups of wine (all wines in the same case with the same vineyard, vintage, producer, and type) will be shown, sorted by case number.

I. Sorting

If you would like to change the way in which your inventory is sorted, click on any of the column headings except Delivery or the current header, and your inventory will resort itself by that column. Note that the inventory listing is always sub-sorted by case number.

II. Searching

If you are interested in searching for a particular group or groups of wine, either click on the "Search Inventory" button at the top of the listings table, or scroll down to the bottom of the page. Once at the Search box, use any of the drag-down menus to search for wines in the current display based on a particular field. After selecting a criteria, click the "Go" button next to that drag-down menu. Once the results of your search are displayed, you can continue to search the currently displayed list, or clear the results by clicking the "Show ALL Wines" button at the top or bottom of the page.

III. Delivery

If you would like any of your wines delivered to you, input the number of bottles in the quantity field corresponding to that wine, or click the "All" button to have all bottles of that wine delivered. If your inventory is sorted by case, you can check the "Deliver Whole Case" box in the case header to have that entire case delivered to you. Once you have marked the desired wines or cases to be delivered, scroll down to the bottom of the listings table and click the "Place Order" button, which will take you to the Delivery Confirmation Page discussed in Section 4. If you are logged-in as a Guest, this button will be grayed out.

IV. Updating User Information

If you would like to change your Password, the e-mail address associated with your account, or your Reminder Question and/or Answer, click on the "Update User Info" button, located at the top of the page on the right-hand side. This will take you to the User Information Page, which will be discussed in Section 3. If you are logged-in as a Guest, this button will be grayed out.

V. Printable Copy

If you would like a printable copy of your wine inventory for your records, click on the "Printable Copy" button, located at the bottom of the page on the right-hand side. This will open a black and white copy of your inventory in a new window, which can be printed by using your browser's Print command. To return to your inventory, simply close the window.

VI. User Notes

Morgan Manhattan's Online Wine Inventory Viewer now allows users to input their own information and notations about bottles of wine in their inventory. To access any notes you have already inputted or wish to input, click on the "Show User Notes" button in the upper right-hand area of the screen to go to the User Notes Page. To learn more about User Notes, see Section 3.

VI. Logging Out

If you are finished viewing your inventory, click the "Log Out" button, located at the top of the listings table. Even if the browser window is closed, you are still logged in to the Wine Inventory Viewer for the duration of the ten minute session while idle. To ensure that someone else using the computer after you does not have access to your inventory, be sure to log out when finished.
