Some moving companies' websites include an online form for you to fill out, which they then use to give you a quote on your move. While an online quote may be fast, at Morgan Manhattan we will only base our estimate on an on-site survey of your move, and not just the contents of a form.

If you do speak to another moving company, make it easy on yourself by providing the exact same information and details to every company - that way you can make fair "apples to apples" comparisons. Keep us up to date on post-estimate changes, such as tag sale successes; items you wish to store; or items you will be packing yourself.

In order for you to get a proper, well thought-out estimate, one of our moving consultants will be happy to visit your home to:

Another moving company may give you a lower initial estimate, but that apparent bargain doesn't mean much when their original figure balloons due to an inaccurate estimate. In fact, we train our estimators to include every factor in their figure, so if anything, you get an estimate that is intentionally higher rather than lower. Remember that after all is said and done, you'll end up paying for actual work done. Don't be caught in the "lowball estimate" game.

In fact, our own research suggests that a person filling in an online form will understate the amount of property to be moved by 40% to 100% -- hardly the basis for an accurate quote.
