What better way to take a break from the heat and humidity of summer than to hit up the beach? There’s no better time for boating, fishing, jet-skiing and other great water activities than on clear water in a great location. Here, Morgan Manhattan has put together a list of some of the best beaches along the east coast. Try one or try them all!

Main Beach, East Hampton, NY

With beautiful, crystal-white sand and calm water, there’s no denying that Main Beach is a top spot for New Yorkers looking for a little sand and sun. This beach is also known for being clean and well-maintained. Grab some lunch and ice cream at the food shack and enjoy a nighttime stroll with your pets (after 6pm).

Cape May Beach, Cape May, NJ

In addition to swimming and sunbathing, it’s not uncommon to see dolphins swimming by and to see a breathtaking sunset over the water. You can also stroll along the boardwalk with a nice ocean breeze on this open and spacious beach.

Multiple Locations, Nantucket, MA

This small island off the coast of Massachusetts is home to several beautiful beaches. For families, Surfside Beach and Children’s Beach both have calm waters and large stretches of sand to play in. Miacomet Pond has both a pond for kids to play in and a larger beach for the rest of the family. Go to Madaket Beach for its rougher surf and unbeatable sunsets. For a quiet, relaxing time, Quidnet Beach and Siasconset Beach are remote and tranquil.

Duck Beach, Duck, NC

Known as one of the “Top 15 Family-Friendly Beaches in America,” Duck Beach is the perfect destination for shell collecting, kayaking, jet skiing, fishing and much more. Take in the beauty and amenities surrounding this NC hidden gem.

Myrtle Beach, SC

This wildly popular vacation destination is along South Carolina’s Atlantic coast and has more than 60 miles of gorgeous, sun-soaked beaches. It also has a beachfront boardwalk with arcades, shopping, dining, souvenir stands and one of the country’s tallest Ferris wheels.
